Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you and Land Àjọ Technologies Limited ("Land Àjọ", "we", "us"), a company incorporated in Nigeria. By downloading, installing or using the Land Àjọ application or website you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of Nigeria or a Nigerian citizen.
- You must have the legal capacity to enter into contracts under Nigerian law.
- You must successfully complete our KYC/AML identity verification before entering an instalment plan.
- You must not be on any Nigerian or international financial sanctions list.
The Service
Land Àjọ is a mobile and web platform that enables users to purchase verified Nigerian land plots through structured monthly instalment plans. We act as facilitator: we source, verify and list plots, administer payment schedules, and coordinate title transfer upon plan completion.
Instalment Plans
When you select a plot and confirm a plan, you enter a binding purchase agreement governed by these Terms and the specific plan schedule displayed in the app. Key terms:
- Deposit — a minimum initial deposit (expressed as a percentage of the plot price) is required to activate your plan.
- Monthly contributions — fixed amounts debited on the same date each month over your chosen term.
- Plan term — between 10 and 12 months depending on the plot and your selection.
- Price lock — the total purchase price is fixed at the time you confirm your plan and will not increase.
- Pausing — you may request a payment pause of up to 60 days once per plan, subject to written approval. Interest does not accrue on pauses we approve.
- No penalties for pace — you may make additional payments at any time to reduce your term, without penalty.
Payments
Payments are processed through our secure, CBN-licensed payment processor. By entering a plan you authorise recurring debits from your nominated payment method. You are responsible for ensuring sufficient funds are available.
If a payment fails, we will retry up to three times over seven days and notify you. After three consecutive missed payments, we reserve the right to suspend your plan. We will always contact you before taking any action.
Title Transfer
Upon completion of all instalment payments, Land Àjọ will initiate transfer of the registered title to your name. The title transfer process typically takes 30–90 days depending on the relevant state land registry. All statutory fees (stamp duty, registration fees) that arise at transfer are included in your plan price unless explicitly stated otherwise in your plan schedule.
Until all payments are complete, title remains with Land Àjọ or its designated trust structure. Your instalment payments create a contractual right to acquire title, not a present ownership interest.
Cancellation & Refunds
You may cancel your plan at any time by contacting us in writing. Refund terms:
- Cancellation within 14 days of plan activation — full refund of all payments made, minus a 30% administrative fee.
- Cancellation after 14 days, before 50% of plan term — refund of payments made minus a 30% cancellation fee and any third-party costs incurred (surveys, KYC, registration fees).
- Cancellation after 50% of plan term — we will work with you to find a resolution, which may include transferring your plan to another buyer, converting to a different plot, or a partial refund. Terms vary by case.
Refunds are processed within 14 business days of confirmed cancellation.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Provide false identity information or fraudulent documents
- Use Land Àjọ for money laundering, fraud or any illegal purpose
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, hack or disrupt the platform
- Create multiple accounts to circumvent plan or deposit limits
- Transfer or sell your account or plan rights without our written consent
App Licence & Store Terms
Land Àjọ grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the Land Àjọ application on devices you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use in accordance with these Terms.
Apple App Store: Your use of the app downloaded from the Apple App Store is also subject to Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions. These Terms are entered into between you and Land Àjọ only — not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. Apple is, however, a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
Google Play Store: Your use of the app downloaded from Google Play is subject to Google's Terms of Service. Land Àjọ (not Google) is solely responsible for the app and its content. Google has no warranty or support obligations with respect to the app.
Intellectual Property
All content, design, code, trademarks and materials within the Land Àjọ platform are owned by or licensed to Land Àjọ Technologies Limited. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute or create derivative works without our written permission.
Feedback or suggestions you provide may be used by us freely without compensation.
Disclaimers
The platform is provided "as is". We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we are not liable for delays caused by third parties (banks, land registries, surveyors). Land values may rise or fall; past appreciation of Nigerian land is not a guarantee of future returns. Nothing on the platform constitutes financial, legal or investment advice.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, Land Àjọ's total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or use of the service is limited to the total amount you have paid under your active plan at the time of the claim.
We are not liable for indirect, consequential or speculative losses including loss of profits, loss of opportunity or loss of data.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Nothing in these Terms removes any mandatory rights you hold under Nigerian consumer-protection law.
Dispute Resolution
If a dispute arises, please first contact us at hello@landajo.ng — we will try to resolve it within 15 business days. If unresolved, disputes may be referred to mediation under the Abuja Multi-Door Courthouse Rules before escalating to litigation in the courts of the Federal Capital Territory.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified via the app or email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance.
